the first thing i …
the first thing i did when i got my 1960 was changed the pickups..they are not very good on a les paul.. they are ceramic magnet pickups and it’s a waste of guitar to put these on..to me, it’s like putting snow tires on a Ferrari..
the guitar now has Nickel covered Dimarzio PAF’s.. try these dudes..alnico V magnets ..gives you that twang..

Oh, I almost forgot …
Oh, I almost forgot! The trapazoid inlay on them is actually more of a green instead of a pearl to give you that “aged” vintage look, which I think is pretty cool…only they don’t age the “Gibson” inlay on the headstock which looks kind of funny. But hey, still a good guitar.

The Classic has the …
The Classic has the 496R and 500T humbuckers as well (Which happen to be the same ones found in the Flying V and the Explorer) They’re VERY hot. In the standards nowadays there putting the Burstbucker Pro’s in them, which have that fat vintage sound.
