I bought this cool cello bass. IT has some 60’s Aria stylings but no manufacture name. Anyone got any idea?
I know I suck at the bass..

I had a Bass very …
I had a Bass very similar to that in the early 70’s, made by Ampeg. It had the scrollwork on the headstock and the F-holes, just like yours. I used mine mainly for Big Band Jazz work- it had beautiful tone. I hope this leads you ever closer to identifying your Bass.

Pretty sure it’s an Aria. Had one exactly like it in ‘72 (’cept mine had a removable pickguard that I ditched) that I bought through Sears & Roebuck - my first bass! Had no markings on it what-so-ever, but Sears did that so they could put their brand on it. Sweet bass, though, and a keeper if nothing more than as an oddity.

I would definitely …
I would definitely say it’s Aria. The headstock shape closely matches their famous “open book” design. I suggest removing the neck and checking the markings on the bottom of the neck. Aria basses commonly had an inspector’s name stamp and a number, at least 70’s models. SWEET bass though!

that would be great …
that would be great pax, Its not massivly import to attach a maker to it.. but it would be nice to know,.
the big key is now retraining my fangers to actually play metal strings.. I so love nylon.. its like the difference between making sweet island love on a silky sand beach (nylon ookoolele strings) or humpin and pumpin on a lava outcrop (steel bass strings) not that i have experience in the latter of the two. LOL

actually its a …
actually its a little bit GFR little bit cocker and some curtis mayfield thrown in and capped off with a little parliment..
I was actually going to try to add some bass, harmonies and bogos to this one.
But alas time has been a cruel mistress.. and keeps me bound to my current non-ookooleleian projects.

Haven’t a clue, but I sure love your color-coordinated and design-coordinated tapa cloth backdrop! You couldn’t have picked a better complement for that stringed beauty.
I see stylized fretboards all over the place!
