Bass Guitar Begginer's Question (What should I choose?)?
Hello, I'm buying a bass guitar, and I want you to enlighten me on whether I should buy a Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass or a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass. Search in Youtube the name of the basses to listen to samples.
The P bass is a very old and vintage bass guitar. It produces some very clean sounds so if you're looking for sound then go for that. The downside is it only has one pick-up so can't produce a huge number of different tones although overall it's a really well made bass.
The same goes for the jazz bass. The neck is probably slightly better quality and makes for better use of soloing and jamming. It has two pick-ups and sometimes an overlap pickup so it can produce the sounds that the P bass can't.
It completely depends on your opinion and how much money you have. If it's any help my first bass was a jazz bass that I still have and use today

although i just play the bass once in a while, i prefer the Jazz Bass than the Precision, try both and see which one that u like or ask someone to come along and play both of the bass to see how the sound differences, and remember not to change the bass amp setting just set it flat and try out the bass to see if u like the sound of the bass guitars or not.
