See how years of exposure to light has faded the finish of a Les Paul Junior. The same thing has happened to older Les Paul Standards - where the red fades away and “cherry” sunburst becomes “ice tea” sunburst.

Disregard the poor sound quality and playing.
I don’t really know much about Orpheum guitars. It’s American, from the 50’s or 60’s, and well made. Originally would have had Klusons and no pickup. Spruce top, checkered binding. Has an added 1960’s Dearmond pickup. Nice guitars, plays well.

Up for sale is this vintage Gibson Tube guitar amp. The listing is here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120223598523&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=002 I am playing my Lotus strat copy through it. I am using a noise gate to try to quiet down the single coils, but as you can see that didn’t work out too good.

A closer look at instruments used in mandolin orchestras in the early 20th Century…. Acoustic superpickers Tim May and David Harvey brought out their personal vintage Gibson collections at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on June 27, 2007, for a powerful demonstration of the beauty and enduring quality of these old treasures. In Chapter One, May plays a 1917 Gibson L-4 Guitar while Harvey plays a March 31, 1924, signed Lloyd Loar Gibson F-5 Mandolin with Virzi Tone Producer. The tune is David Grisman’s “Cedar Hill”. (Used with permission.)
