Vintage Bass Guitars

I've been looking for a new electric bass that'll give me a good rock-a-billy sound but i dont want one of those ugly fenders it has to look the part also i dont want an upright bass so can you help either find a nice vintage style electric strap around bass or a web site where i can make what i want ????

I have a vintage Shergold bass guitar. I absolutely love it but the only problem is the electronics. The bass has stereo, not standard mono, electronics and a stereo output port.
This is an issue as all the equipment I usually use with my other basses is mono.

Is there any way I can convert the stereo output port into mono so I don't have to mess about with PAs and stuff?

Return Question: Does this bass guitar have two pickups? Stereo requires separate pickups for left and right. I'm looking at upgrade options for a few bass guitars myself (all monaural), in terms of a rewire for balanced signal output, viz., the Tip and Ring on the 1/4" jack having equal and opposite-phase output, rather than independent hots as would be the case with stereo. I am not aware of too many bass amplifiers being stereo (excepting Hammond/Leslie keyboard amps and combos).

However, according to

the Marathon Mk 1 Stereo normally had two output jacks, rather than the single TRS jack your example.

The ideal solution is probably as simple as an adapter instrument cable with the Tip and Ring of the bass-end plug ganged together and run to the Tip of the amplifier-end cable. However, a review of the Bypass Module at:

suggests that the stereo outputs from the switchwork could be ganged at a new TS-type 1/4" jack. To my understanding, all guitar and bass amplifiers support the Bypass Module, but I have yet to run across a bass amplifier that is stereo from the preamplifier, as the Stereo Module requires.
